Developing Coaching Capability

With experience of delivering Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) coaching courses from team leader training to Executive Coaching qualifications, I offer a wealth of expertise and knowledge when it comes to developing other coaches. If you wish to develop your in-house coaching capabilities, either by offering professional supervision to existing coaches or to train people in your organisation to coach others, I can help.

Coaching training: I offer half or full day ‘Coaching Essentials’ courses through to bespoke in depth coach training programmes which can also be accredited by the ILM (in partnership with OneDegree Development Ltd) if you wish your staff to gain official recognition for their coaching skills.

Coaching supervision: I also provide supervision of coaches either on a one to one or group basis. This is usually conducted face to face but one to one supervision can also be carried out virtually (via phone or Skype). Supervision is a recognised form of continuing professional development for both in-house and external coaches. The International Coach Federation stipulate that their members have one hour of supervision for every 35 hours of coaching that they carry out and the European Mentoring Coaching Council ask their members to have at least one hour of supervision per quarter.

Our supervision clients report that this activity gives them an invaluable opportunity to reflect on their practice (what has gone well and what has been a challenge) and to identify new ways of working moving forwards,

Previous coaching development projects have included:

–       Running ILM Level 5 and Level 7 coaching and mentoring programmes for a range of learners, including in house coach training for a County Council.

–       Delivering one and half day in house ‘coaching essentials’ workshops, which upskills managers, supervisors and other staff in using coaching skills as part of their day jobs and to enhance their management toolkit.

–       Offering regular group supervision for internal coaches at a County Council and a District Council.

–       Supervising former ILM students on a one to one basis.
